A Look Back

Indian Rocks Beach welcomed visitors long before today’s Gulf Boulevard took shape. Early beachgoers arrived by boat, and the first bridge connecting the mainland to the beach opened in 1916. As the community grew, its cottages helped establish the character that remains an important part of its identity.

The Indian Rocks Historical Museum preserves that story through photographs, exhibits, and local memories. Located in Chic-A-Si Park, the museum occupies a cottage built in 1939—a fitting setting for discovering the community’s past.

Local Character & Culture

Indian Rocks Beach’s community spirit shows up in its preserved cottages, independent shops, and local art. Historical markers encourage you to pause and notice the stories behind familiar streets and buildings.

The Beach Art Center offers another way to get involved, with classes and workshops for a range of interests and experience levels. Whether you’re trying something new or returning to a favorite creative pursuit, its schedule offers opportunities to connect through art.
